Russian Minister of Defence holds talks in Tashkent with his counterpart

General of the Army Sergei Shoigu, the Russian Minister of Defence, held talks with Major General Abdusalom Azizov, the Minister of Defence of the Republic.

Sergei Shoigu stated that military and technical cooperation between the two countries is absolutely concrete and of paramount importance.

“First of all it refers to all that risks and threats along borders of Uzbekistan. “Therefore, Russia is ready to keep on sharing its experience and to train personnel for the Uzbekistan’s Armed Forces. It means that Russia offers to significantly increase the number of military staff studying in Russia”, Sergei Shoigu said.

According to the Russian Minister of Defence, military specialists from Uzbekistan acquire in Russia good, substantive expertise based on experience from various military operation, including the Syrian one.

“Russia also considered it is necessary to prepare a special curriculum that will be discussed at the Army 2018 International Military and Technical Forum in August,” Sergei Shoigu concluded.

In his turn, Major General Abdusalom Azizov highly appreciated Russia-Uzbekistan military and technical cooperation, referring to Russia’s experience and might.

“Uzbekistan considers Russia to be the country that has authority worldwide and in the region as well. Besides, one cannot discard and forget those historical, cultural and economic ties bounding the two countries. I believe we will further develop and consolidate Russia-Uzbekistan relations”, Abdusalom Azizov stressed.

He especially emphasized the cooperation of the two countries in staff training, military and technical support and combat training.

“Russian specialists are very active in helping us. Certainly, Uzbekistan’s delegations and teams willingly participate in the International Army Games and the ARMY Forum”, concluded Abdusalom Azizov.
