Address of the Minister of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov to the “ADEX 2024” exhibitors.

“Dear exhibitors, guests and friends!

I welcome you on the occasion of the opening of the 5th Anniversary Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition ADEX 2024 and wish success to all participants.

As you know, the Republic of Azerbaijan always considers enhancing the combat capability and strengthening the material-technical base of the Armed Forces. Azerbaijan not only develops cooperation with the world’s leading states in the military-technical sphere but also expands its capabilities in the field of national defense industry, as well as actively participates in international events. The Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition ADEX 2024, held in Baku, has become not only the most prestigious exhibition in the region but also an important platform for the development of military-technical cooperation and demonstration of modern weapons, equipment and technologies.

The experience exchange with the world’s advanced armies, the participation of Azerbaijani servicemen in international exercises, military cooperation, the integration of modern weapons and equipment into our armament, as well as other work aimed at developing defense potential continue. I am sure that the next “ADEX 2024” international exhibition to be held in Azerbaijan, will be an ideal venue to demonstrate innovations and exchange experience in the military-technical field, as well as discuss security issues.

I believe that the booth presented by the Azerbaijan Defense Ministry at the ADEX 2024 exhibition will be met with interest by exhibitors and visitors. Surely, we have high expectations for the exhibition. The aim is to establish useful cooperation, to study and integrate into our armament modern high-precision ammunition, military weapons, as well as other samples of military equipment developed by the world’s leading weapons manufacturers by the use of the latest technologies.

Along with this, we plan to hold meetings and conduct analyses to discuss the signing of new agreements, that will benefit in establishing working relations and ensuring security, taking advantage of the presence of official delegations and specialists from the world’s leading military industry companies in one venue.

I would like to highlight one point. The booth will also showcase the achievements made through repairing and restoring military equipment and weapons at repair factories functioning under the Ministry of Defense. Several innovations we put forward regarding the effective use and improvement of weapons and equipment based on our battle experience were successfully implemented at these enterprises under the Ministry.

We are proud of the fact that based on the experience gained over the years, as well as after the April battles, a lot of work has been done in the Azerbaijan Army to modernize military equipment and apply modern technologies in the military sphere. In the Patriotic War and subsequent operations, we have seen the outcomes of the innovations. The worldwide study and analysis of the innovations that the Azerbaijan Army has brought to military science is also a matter of pride.

As the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Mr. Ilham Aliyev always emphasizes, the army development remains a priority issue for our state. Considering the significance of this area, cooperation with many countries of the world, including military education, medicine and supply in the military and military-technical spheres, will continue to be aligned with our national interests and will be effective for the further development of the Azerbaijan Army.

The processes taking place in the region and the world, the threats and challenges of the modern era make it necessary to monitor and study the innovations in the field of defense industry and determine the defense power of our country and the combat readiness of the Army to be maintained at a high level hereinafter. Work on equipping the Azerbaijan Army Units with new weapons and military equipment is being successfully continued today. It is the result of the positive steps that today the Azerbaijan Army, which is the strongest army in the South Caucasus, is in the forefront among the armies of the world. As the head of the country noted, today’s Azerbaijan Army is much stronger than the Azerbaijan Army that had gained glorious victory in 2020.

Our people can feel confident that the personnel of the Azerbaijan Army, that is armed with the most modern weapons and combat equipment, has a high patriotic spirit, psychological training and is ready and able to accomplish any order of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief Mr. Ilham Aliyev.

In the end, I would like to say that our military industrial complex, which has undergone great progress over the past few years, is not limited with only domestic needs, successful steps are being taken regarding the export of military equipment for various purposes. Some of the weapons, equipment and numerous military equipment available in our armament are produced by our military industry, and these products have successfully passed practical tests in combat operations. I believe that this factor at the exhibition will serve to increase interest in the products produced by the national military industrial complex.

I hope that the Azerbaijan International Defence Exhibition ADEX will provide an opportunity to strengthen the existing military-technical cooperation and gain broad perspectives. Hosting such a prestigious event in our capital is an indicator of trust and confidence in our country.
