ASELSAN Showcases Surface and Underwater USVs at TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan

ASELSAN is making its mark as the largest technology partner of the “TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan” festival, showcasing Türkiye’s naval capabilities.

Polygonjournal reports, citing information provided by ASELSAN, that the company is participating in “TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan”, held at the Gölcük Naval Shipyard Command, with a 200-square-meter exhibition stand. ASELSAN is showcasing its KILIÇ kamikaze-type autonomous unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV), TUFAN kamikaze unmanned surface vehicle (USV), and DERİNGÖZ autonomous UUV.

The domestically developed KILIÇ, TUFAN and DERİNGÖZ platforms demonstrated at sea have attracted significant public interest.

Designed for various mission requirements in the underwater environment, DERİNGÖZ can be used for tasks such as mine countermeasures, protection of critical underwater infrastructure, monitoring of underwater pipelines, underwater reconnaissance, and port security. The system stands out with its autonomous operational capability, enabling reconnaissance and surveillance activities in high-risk and difficult-to-access underwater areas while minimizing human intervention.

Optimized to provide continuous security within the boundaries of the “Blue Homeland”, the KILIÇ kamikaze unmanned underwater vehicle stands out with its operational independence and high strike capability. The platform’s technical infrastructure has been designed to operate effectively even under challenging maritime conditions. Using advanced artificial intelligence algorithms and autonomous navigation systems, the system can identify targets without human intervention. Thanks to its high speed and superior maneuverability, KILIÇ can penetrate enemy defensive lines and is equipped with electro-optical camera systems and advanced communications infrastructure enabling day-and-night operations.

At “TEKNOFEST Mavi Vatan”, the TUFAN kamikaze USV, described as a game-changing force at sea, can be divided into sub-groups to perform various missions and generate asymmetric attack formations. TUFAN also stands out with its ability to conduct evasive maneuvers, avoid moving and stationary obstacles, and perform AI- and vision-based target detection and engagement.

At TEKNOFEST, ASELSAN is also displaying HİSAR O, KALKAN, KORKUT, GÖKSUR and GÜRZ, which are components of Türkiye’s layered air defense architecture “Steel Dome” (ÇELİKKUBBE), along with the company’s ASELBUOY and DÜFAS systems.
