The German Navy has conducted a firing test of Israel Aerospace Industries’ (IAI) “Naval LORA” ballistic missile as part of an Operational Experimentation (OPEX) programme.
Polygonjournal reports, citing IAI, that during the test, ship-launched missiles flew along the designated trajectory toward the target in both scenarios and struck it with high precision.
It was noted that both the weapon system and the missile successfully completed all the objectives set for the test.
The “Naval LORA” is a weapon system that has been tested under combat conditions and has gained operational experience. The system provides precision-strike capability, enabling “sea-to-land” and “sea-to-sea” strikes through a specialised naval launch-vehicle configuration.
The system consists of a long-range ballistic missile, a unique launcher and a command-and-control system.
