SRT Signs $261M deal for Maritime Surveillance System
SRT Marine Systems announced it has signed a new $261 million contract with a sovereign government customer to deliver a national Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) system, the company said in a statement.
The agreement represents a new addition to SRT’s Sovereign Partnership Programme and will provide the customer with an integrated platform for monitoring activity across its maritime domain.
Maritime Domain Awareness platforms are increasingly viewed as a core capability for states seeking to strengthen border security, maritime safety, and control of fisheries and marine resources.
According to SRT Marine Systems, the newly signed agreement will provide the customer with a national-scale maritime surveillance and intelligence system designed to support a range of operational tasks. These include monitoring maritime traffic, supporting coast guard and fisheries enforcement missions, and improving situational awareness for civil defense and maritime law enforcement authorities.
The system will integrate multiple sensors and operational data sources into a single platform capable of providing a continuous picture of maritime activity. According to the company, the platform is designed to combine data streams from coastal sensors, vessel tracking systems, and other surveillance inputs into an operational environment that can be used by government agencies responsible for maritime security.
As noted by the company, the system will be designed to evolve over time with the customer’s requirements. The architecture allows the integration of additional sensors, data feeds, and operational tools as the customer expands its maritime surveillance capabilities.
