The Netherlands Plans to Purchase “GlobalEye” Aircraft from Sweden
The Netherlands has signed a Letter of Intent with Sweden regarding the acquisition of “GlobalEye” airborne early warning and control (AEW&C) aircraft manufactured by “Saab”.
Polygonjournal reports, citing “Saab”, that the parties have not yet signed a procurement contract, and the company has not received an order from the Netherlands.
“GlobalEye” is an advanced multi-domain early warning and control solution equipped with a suite of active and passive sensors that provides long-range detection and identification of objects in the air, at sea and on land. By providing real-time information to joint operational forces, the system enhances situational awareness and enables the early detection of threats.
