Turkish Land Forces Induct a Batch of MPT-76 MH Assault Rifles

The Turkish Land Forces have inducted a new batch of MPT-76 MH assault rifles into their inventory.

Polygonjournal reports that the Turkish Ministry of National Defence announced this.

The MPT-76 MH is an improved and lightweight version of the MPT-76 assault rifle, which was adopted by the Turkish Armed Forces in 2016. Manufactured at the Kırıkkale Arms Factory, the MPT-76 MH was developed by Turkish engineers with the operational requirements of Turkish soldiers in mind.

The MPT-76 MH weighs 3.75 kilograms, making it approximately 500 grams lighter than the MPT-76. Its lighter and more ergonomic design enables soldiers to improve their mobility. The rifle has an effective range of 600 metres and a rate of fire of 750 rounds per minute.

The assault rifle has successfully passed a total of 58 tests, including 42 NATO-standard and 16 national-standard tests. According to the company, the MPT-76 MH is the only assault rifle of its calibre in the world to meet these specifications.
