US Marine Corps to Acquire HAVOC Systems to Counter Drone Swarms

The US Marine Corps will acquire HAVOC high-power microwave systems developed by “Epirus” to counter swarms of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
Polygonjournal reports, citing “Epirus”, that the company has secured an $11 million contract through the US Office of Naval Research.
Under the contract, “Epirus” will deliver its HAVOC (High-power Microwave Autonomous Vehicle Operational Capability) system to the US Marine Corps. The system is designed to counter both individual and swarming UAVs, as well as protect critical infrastructure.
The contract also includes training, maintenance, and logistics support.
HAVOC is a more advanced and autonomous version of the ExDECS high-power microwave system introduced by “Epirus” for the US Marine Corps in 2025. The mobile system will be used as a soft-kill counter-UAV capability within low-altitude air defense units.
The system is intended to protect radars, communications and power equipment, fuel stations, air defense assets, and other critical infrastructure.
According to the company, the range and output power of the HAVOC system will be increased, while its electronic effects capabilities and operational efficiency will be improved. The system will also be continuously upgraded through software and adapted to different operational requirements.
