Air Europa Extends Exclusive Boeing 787 Nacelle Maintenance Agreement with RTX’s Collins Aerospace

Air Europa has extended its exclusive Boeing 787 nacelle maintenance agreement with Collins Aerospace, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, through 2037. The renewed program supports the airline’s long‑term fleet strategy by improving operational reliability, enhancing maintenance planning and optimizing cost management for thrust reverser and nacelle services.

As the fleet matures, Air Europa is adopting a proactive maintenance approach that ensures rapid nacelle support for aircraft-on-ground events and enables predictable shop visit planning, reducing unscheduled downtime and strengthening fleet readiness.

“We continue to collaborate with Air Europa to align nacelle support with its long-term fleet strategy, providing the technical expertise and global repair capacity that ensure sustained readiness across its 787 operations,” said PJ Titone, vice president and general manager, Aerostructures at Collins Aerospace. “By combining deep nacelle expertise with flexible aftermarket support, we’re helping customers access parts faster, plan maintenance with confidence and avoid operational disruptions.”

“Extending our relationship with Collins Aerospace for the next decade demonstrates Air Europa’s confidence in Collins’ nacelle support capabilities,” said Pedro Macías, Chief Technical Officer of Air Europa. “It will directly improve our daily operations, parts availability, shop turn-around-time management and budget accuracy.”

The updated service structure also provides additional operational efficiencies. Air Europa will further improve nacelle maintenance, transportation and lease costs by staging nacelles at its main base and using a forward exchange solution. This approach increases part availability, simplifies planning and enables better budget management.
