MKE Signs Memorandum of Understanding with Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production

Turkey’s MKE has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Egypt’s Ministry of Military Production during the “Balkan Shield” defence exhibition, held for the first time in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

According to information provided by MKE to Polygonjournal, the memorandum aims to develop existing cooperation in the defence industry and establish new areas of joint activity. It envisages the joint production and development of various defence industry products, particularly explosives.

The MoU was the first agreement signed at the exhibition. Turkey’s Deputy Minister of National Defence Salih Ayhan and Egypt’s Minister of Military Production, Major General Salah Soliman Gomblat, also attended the signing ceremony. The document was signed by MKE General Manager İlhami Keleş and General Hesham Madkour Dakrouri, Director General of Egypt’s Chemical Industries.

The parties are planning to take further steps to expand their cooperation in the defence industry during the El Alamein International Airshow 2026, which will be held in Egypt from 8 to 10 September.
