RTX’s Pratt & Whitney Initiates Construction of new $100 Million Rzeszów Expansion to Strengthen Advanced Manufacturing Capabilities

Pratt & Whitney, an RTX (NYSE: RTX) business, today announced the start of construction on a new $100 million (375 million zloty) facility to increase production capacity, introduce manufacturing of critical rotating components and meet the growing global demand for commercial and military engines, including the Pratt & Whitney GTF™, F135 and F100 engines. The expanded site is expected to become operational in 2028, creating more than 120 jobs.
The Rzeszów site provides advanced manufacturing and technology development capabilities for commercial and military engines, turboprops and auxiliary power units. Its work includes the producing critical engine components such as the GTF fan drive gear system, F100 static structures and key F135 parts. The site also manufactures engines for helicopters, business jets and general aviation aircraft — specifically those from the PT6, PW200, PW500/600 and PW800 families.

“Six months ago, we were talking about this investment as a plan and an opportunity to strengthen Poland’s position as a strategic center of excellence for Pratt & Whitney,” said Piotr Owsicki, general manager, Pratt & Whitney in Rzeszów. “Today, we begin turning that plan into reality. Through strong collaboration across our teams and our shared commitment to delivering for our customers, we are breaking ground on a new Rzeszów facility that will expand our ability to develop highly advanced capabilities and technologies.”
The expansion follows and supports a $200 million investment announced in February for a seventh isothermal forging press at Pratt & Whitney’s Columbus Forge facility in Georgia, United States. These capital projects, expected to be fully operational by 2028, will enable a 30% increase in output of critical engine parts, such as rotating compressors and turbine disks.
Poland represents RTX’s largest investment and employee base outside the United States, with more than 9,500 employees across its Collins Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney and Raytheon businesses in-country.
