Russia hands over 125 military equipment to Kyrgyzstan

A ceremony of the transfer of military technical assistance from Russia to Kyrgyzstan with the participation of President Sooronbai Jeenbekov took place on the Old Square on January 15.

Russian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Andrei Krutko introduced the equipment to the president.

The military-technical assistance came in the framework of the implementation of the agreement between the governments of the two countries on the provision of technical assistance in the framework of joining the Eurasian Economic Union.

The delivery of the first batch of products intended for technical equipment and engineering equipment of the Kyrgyz section of the EAEU customs border was completed on December 15, 2018. It consists of 125 units of automotive and engineering equipment: 108 vehicles of high traffic for transportation of people and goods; 2 tractor cars; 2 backhoe loaders; 2 cranmobiles; 4 ambulances; 5 special purpose vehicles. There will also be two drilling rigs.

An agreement was signed between Kyrgyzstan and Russia on the provision of technical assistance on border management outside checkpoints with the accession of Kyrgyzstan to the EAEU, said the head of the State Border Service Ularbek Sharsheyev.

Sharsheyev noted that the equipment will be distributed on the external border of the EAEU – Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and China.
