Varta Novator special tactical vehicle successfully passed next state trials
The Ukrainian Armor’s press service has announced that new Varta Novator special tactical vehicle has successfully passed next phases of the state trials.
The announcement was made on 30 March shortly after the new Varta Novator special tactical vehicle successfully passed next phase of trials at a special road test-range, told Defence-Blog.
The Varta Novator is a 4×4 light tactical vehicle based on a high-mobility cross-country chassis and Ford’s 6.7-liter turbodiesel in the base version is equipped with a landing gear extinguishing system, an autonomous climate control system, a navigation system and a Run-flat system that allows the vehicle to continue to travel even when the wheels are damaged. The vehicle seems to be protect with an armour to offer protection against firing of small arms and shell splinters.
Tentatively, the car went through a full cycle of development tests. March 26-27, during the next stage of state tests, the Novator passed a number of tests, in particular on dynamics, brake properties, geometric and weight measurements were carried out-a machine weighing almost 9 tons was designed for a load of 1.5 tons.
The design of the vehicle is divided into three main parts with the engine at the front, crew and troop compartment in the middle and cargo area at the rear. It can accommodate five military personnel with two seats at the front and three at the rear.
According to Dmitry Polyakov, the first deputy director of the design and production enterprise “Ukrainian Armor”, the Novator tactical vehicle adequately showed its driving qualities and reliability, we expect that the vehicle will be adopted in service of the National Guard of Ukraine.
The members of the commission, who are representatives of all law enforcement agencies and departments of Ukraine, emphasized that Ukraine need for vehicles of this class is very high.
