Malaysia reportedly selects EVA M2 howitzer
Malaysia has reportedly selected the EVA M2 self-propelled howitzer (SPH) from Konštrukta Defence, marking the first export success for the advanced Slovak artillery system.
The EVA M2, a development of the ShKH vz.77 DANA SPH, features a newly designed turret with a 155mm L/52 gun, catering to the modern artillery needs of international defense forces.
The EVA M2 has been engineered to blend the advantages of Konštrukta’s 155mm ZUZANA 2 and EVA artillery systems, providing a lighter, more mobile platform with enhanced firepower and automation. This system was developed to meet the evolving requirements of global defense markets, particularly for forces seeking high mobility, crew protection, and advanced combat capabilities.
The primary objectives for the EVA M2 include a 155mm armament capable of extended firing ranges, high rates of fire, and an onboard ready-to-fire ammunition supply.
Also was improved mobility with a focus on cross-country maneuverability.
Compared to its predecessors, the EVA M2 is designed to be lighter and more agile than the ZUZANA 2 while maintaining similar firepower. It also improves upon the original EVA system by carrying a larger ammunition load, offering higher protection levels for the crew, and featuring a more automated operational process.
Malaysia’s choice to acquire the EVA M2 reflects a growing interest in advanced, versatile artillery systems capable of supporting modern military operations.
