HAVELSAN has reached a major milestone with the successful completion of the 60th delivery of its Ship Data Distribution System (GVDS), a critical technology designed for both submarines and surface vessels. Built to operate reliably in the harshest maritime environments, GVDS ensures uninterrupted, high-performance data flow across all onboard systems.

Developed entirely in-house with advanced engineering expertise, the GVDS product family is also deployed in submarines under the name Submarine Information Distribution System (DBDS). Acting as the nerve center of modern naval platforms, GVDS and DBDS manage data exchange and system integration with exceptional resilience and precision.

A Proven, Battle-Tested Technology

HAVELSAN delivered its very first GVDS 15 years ago for the inaugural MİLGEM-class vessel and has since built a track record of operational excellence. The latest delivery, designated for the eighth MİLGEM-class ship, achieved an “A” grade during rigorous factory acceptance testing.

These systems operate 24/7 with exceptionally high availability rates and minimal maintenance requirements. Collectively, all deployed GVDS and DBDS units have now exceeded 300 years of accumulated operational time — a testament to their reliability and endurance.

Global Integration-Ready

Originally designed for the Turkish Navy, GVDS is fully adaptable to the unique requirements of international naval forces. Its modular architecture allows seamless integration with various combat management systems, sensors, and weapon platforms, enabling precise coordination even in challenging sea states and adverse weather conditions.

GVDS provides the backbone for mission-critical operations, ensuring that tactical sensors, such as radars, and weapon systems, such as naval guns, maintain maximum performance under any circumstances.

High Local Content, International Standards

HAVELSAN has increased the domestic contribution rate of the GVDS/DBDS product family to over 80% by designing and manufacturing key subsystems, including:
