Stormwatch Launches Jet İnterceptor Production

Stormwatch Defense has announced the start of serial production for its jet turbine interceptor, following nearly three years of development and flight testing.

The company described the system as a versatile airframe designed to integrate a wide array of weapons and payloads.

In a statement, Rory Berger, director of Stormwatch Defense, said: “After nearly three years of extensive development and flight testing, Stormwatch Defense is thrilled to announce the commencement of serial production for our jet turbine interceptor.”

According to the company, the interceptor airframe features integrated picatinny rails, enabling power and data connectivity for mounted firearms, rockets, drop tanks, and other payloads. This modular design allows rapid adaptation of the aircraft for different mission profiles, ranging from precision strike to extended endurance roles.

Stormwatch Defense also confirmed that it has begun the production tooling process for its U.S.-manufactured 180N jet engine.

Berger explained that this decision was driven by both operational and supply chain considerations. “This strategic move not only mitigates potential future supply chain challenges, but will elevate performance standards above and beyond conventional off-the-shelf micro-turbines,” he said.

The 180N engine is positioned as a key element of the interceptor, providing higher thrust and reliability compared to commercially available micro-turbines. By manufacturing the engine domestically, Stormwatch Defense aims to ensure steady availability of critical components while also meeting defense sector requirements for secure supply lines.

The company emphasized that the interceptor program reflects its broader commitment to developing scalable, adaptable defense technologies. With serial production underway, Stormwatch Defense is preparing to expand deliveries to meet growing demand from military and security customers seeking affordable, modular airframes.

Stormwatch Defense said further updates will follow as the production line expands and deliveries begin. “Stay tuned for more updates on our advancements in defense technology!” the company’s announcement concluded.
