Israeli Military Procures DefendAir counter-drone Systems

An Israeli defense entity has placed its first purchase order for ParaZero Technologies’ DefendAir counter-unmanned aerial system, the company announced, confirming a new procurement of anti-drone equipment amid heightened drone activity identified in recent conflicts.

The order represents ParaZero’s first direct contract with a main Israeli defense organization for its DefendAir system and includes delivery of operational units, integration support, and training to ensure rapid readiness. The company said the systems will be used as part of broader procurement efforts focused on protecting ground forces and critical operations from unmanned aerial threats.

According to ParaZero Technologies, the DefendAir system is a multi-layered, soft-kill counter-drone solution designed to intercept hostile drones without using kinetic weapons. The system uses patented net-launching technology to capture drones in flight, reducing the risk of debris or secondary damage in urban or sensitive environments.

As noted by the company, DefendAir is intended for the protection of troops, infrastructure, and populated areas where traditional air defense weapons may not be suitable. ParaZero stated that the system has demonstrated full interception success during multiple field trials, validating its operational use against small unmanned aircraft.

The company confirmed that the purchase includes not only the hardware but also technical integration and operator training, allowing the customer to field the system quickly after delivery. ParaZero did not disclose the number of units ordered or the total contract value.

DefendAir is designed as a portable and scalable counter-UAS solution, allowing deployment around fixed sites or alongside maneuvering units. Unlike hard-kill systems that rely on missiles or gunfire, the DefendAir approach focuses on physically disabling drones through capture, which is intended to limit collateral damage and enable use in close proximity to friendly forces or civilian infrastructure.

ParaZero CEO Ariel Alon said the order reflects operational demand for counter-drone systems following recent battlefield experience.

Recent conflicts have shown that low-cost drones can pose a persistent risk to armored vehicles, logistics nodes, command posts, and frontline units, increasing demand for systems that can operate in dense and complex environments.
