TOLUN Munitions Accurately Hit Various Targets

The TOLUN family of munitions, developed by ASELSAN, has once again demonstrated its effectiveness by accurately hitting various targets during firing tests conducted from the “Akıncı” unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
According to information provided to Polygonjournal by ASELSAN, the “International Guidance Systems Demo Activity” was held at the Karapınar Firing Test Range in Konya with the participation of military officials from more than 15 countries.
As part of the event, firing tests were conducted with TOLUN I, featuring an impact-type fuze and fragmentation warhead; TOLUN F, equipped with a proximity sensor and fragmentation warhead; and TOLUN P, featuring a programmable time fuze and penetrating warhead.
The TOLUN I munition, equipped with an impact-type fuze and fragmentation warhead, accurately struck a container target. With its high-precision strike capability and fragmentation warhead, the munition can be effectively employed against both stationary and moving targets.
The TOLUN F munition was fired against an armoured personnel carrier target with personnel positioned around it. TOLUN F is equipped with a programmable electronic time fuze designed to maximise the destructive effect over the target. It also features a proximity sensor that enables the warhead to detonate at a predetermined distance before the munition impacts the target. Featuring software resistant to GPS signal spoofing, TOLUN F also offers a selectable impact angle.
The TOLUN P munition was tested against a two-storey concrete building target. Equipped with a penetrating warhead and a specially designed shaped penetrating nose, TOLUN P penetrated the two-storey concrete structure and, using its programmable time fuze, destroyed elements located on a designated floor of the target. Fitted with the ASAF hard-target fuze developed by ASELSAN, TOLUN P once again demonstrated its effectiveness against reinforced concrete targets.
The TOLUN family of munitions can be carried in multiple configurations on aerial platforms using the SADAK-4T carriage developed by ASELSAN. TOLUN enables single or multiple munitions to be launched simultaneously against single or multiple targets during a single sortie. The family can perform missions both day and night and under various weather conditions.
