Turkish Dearsan Shipyard will construct a corvette for Turkmenistan Navy
Turkmenistan Navy has signed a contract with the Turkish company of “Gülhan & Dearsan İş Ortaklığı” (“Gulhan & Dearsan Business Partnership”) about the construction of corvette, source in Turkish defense industry told Polygon.
According to the contract, one 65 metres corvette will be constructed by the company of “Gülhan & Dearsan İş Ortaklığı” (“Gulhan & Dearsan Business Partnership”) in the port city – Turkmenbashi.
The project of the contructing of ship for Turkmenistan Navy is called “Turkmen” class corvette.
It is planned to increase the number in the next stage.
From 2010 to the present day, Dearsan Shipyards has provided a total of 25 ships for the Navy and Border Guards of Turkmenistan (10 units of 57 meters Tuzla Patrol Boats, 2 landing ships, 6 units 33 meters attack boats, 5 Search and Rescue Ships, 1 hydrographic vessel and 1 passenger vessel).
