Otokar to exhibit COBRA II at IDEB 2018
Otokar, Turkey’s largest private capital defense industry company will participate in International Defence Exhibition Bratislava – IDEB for the first time. During the four-day exhibition Otokar will promote Cobra II armored personnel carrier.
Otokar, with exports to more than 30 countries in five continents, will participate in the IDEB (International Defence Exhibition Bratislava) 2018 in Bratislava, Slovakia. In the exhibition, Otokar will promote Cobra II, with its high level of protection, spacious interior and superior mobility for potential users. During the four-day long organization, visitors and prospective clients will also be provided with information about Otokar’s range of vehicles with superior mobility including 4×4 to 8×8 tactical wheeled as well as tracked vehicles with different versions and configurations and Otokar designed turret systems. 
Otokar continues to strengthen its position in the international defense industry with its technological superiority, engineering power, design capabilities and over 30 years of experience in military vehicles. Stating that more than 30 thousand Otokar vehicles are included in the inventories of more than 50 users across the world, Serdar Görgüç, General Manager of Otokar, said, “Otokar continues to invest in research, development and new technologies to provide fast and optimal response to the expectations and demands from the defense industry. Thanks to allocating 4% of Otokar’s revenues to research and development for the last decade; Otokar continues to increase its armored vehicle deliveries in line with user expectations. Otokar has also started to stand out in global scale not just for its products with fully-owned intellectual property rights, but also with its know-how, engineering, R&D and technology transfer capabilities.”
Serdar Görgüç underlined that Otokar as a registered NATO and United Nations supplier is ready to manufacture the best vehicles with modern equipment in line with the needs in Slovakia, “We have been able to gain significant experience about responding to the needs and expectations of this region through the military vehicles currently serving in Central Europe. In addition to promoting our broad product range during the exhibition, we look for the new opportunities including technology transfer. Otokar is also prepared for different collaborations, including local production to meet the needs of the region.”

COBRA II, designed by the R&D team and built on the existing COBRA vehicle to serve security forces in various missions, features a modular platform with superior technical and tactical specifications. COBRA II delivers high performance in the most challenging terrain and climate conditions and stands apart for its 9-personnel capacity as well as high level of protection, firing power and mission-oriented equipment. Designed and produced by Otokar in line with client expectations against present day threats, COBRA II offers outstanding level of protection against ballistic, mine and IED threats. COBRA II, subjected to rigorous climatic and amphibious tests in different parts of the world, traveled thousands of miles and also successfully passed the open sea swimming tests. COBRA II is already in service with Turkish Armed and Security Forces and with export customers.
