Construction of Pakistan Navy’s first MILGEM-class corvette begins

Keel laying ceremony of first MILGEM Class Corvette for Pakistan Navy held at Turkey.

The inaugural ceremony to this effect was held at Istanbul Naval Shipyard.

The contract for 04 corvettes for PN with Transfer of Technology was signed with ASFAT which entails construction of 02 corvettes at Turkey & 02 at Pakistan (KS&EW).

The MILGEM Class Corvettes will be technologically most advanced platforms of Pakistan Navy, equipped with modern surface, subsurface & anti-air weapons, sensors & Combat Management System. These ships will contribute in maintaining peace, stability & balance of power in IOR.
