Ground Technical Support – a guarantee of quality service, repair, and modernization

Formed as a local brand in Azerbaijan, Ground Technical Support (GTS), in a short time since its establishment, began to participate in projects in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan with government agencies.

GTS, one of the leading private companies operating in the defense industry of the Republic of Azerbaijan, was established in 2021.

From the first day of its creation, independently, as well as jointly with the world’s leading manufacturers of missile and artillery weapons, armored vehicles, automotive equipment, various training complexes, electronic equipment, power sources, by the requirements of Customers, it provides high-quality and prompt maintenance, as well as repair and modernization processes (updating old models) of weapons and military vehicles of the Ground Forces at their deployment sites, also based on its own “Maintenance and Repair Center” (MRC).

The company includes the departments of “Repair of Special Equipment” and “Repair of Tracked and Wheeled Equipment”, as well as the department of logistics and the “Maintenance and Repair Center”, where the work is actually carried out.

The mission of GTS company and its professional team is aimed at fulfilling its obligations and providing high-quality services for the maintenance, repair, and modernization of special-purpose products in accordance with the requirements of the Customer.

GTS’s main activities:

• execution of works on repair and modernization of samples;
• provision of service to samples;
• execution of integration and adaptation work.

Over the past period, GTS has signed a “Mutual Cooperation Agreement” and cooperates in the field of service, repair, and modernization with world-famous manufacturers of weapons and military vehicles from Türkiye, Israel, Bulgaria, Belarus, and Russia, and also carries out service, repair, and modernization of these models in Azerbaijan.

GTS Company provides service, repair, and modernization of the following types of weapons and military vehicles in accordance with the Customer’s requirements:

For repair of special equipment

• portable and self-propelled mortar systems;
• towed artillery systems;
• self-propelled artillery systems;
• missile systems and multiple launch rocket systems;
• anti-tank guided missile systems (including combat modules).

For repair of tracked and wheeled vehicles

• armored vehicles: base vehicles and weapons systems (including combat modules);
• armored and unarmored vehicles: basic chassis and special parts (including combat modules);
• motorcycles, quads, and buggies.

For repair of simulator complexes and power supplies

• various simulator complexes;
• power sources (generators) for various purposes.

Along with old models of weapons and military vehicles, GTS carries out maintenance, repair, and modernization of GradLAR and Extra combat vehicles, their transport and loading vehicles and control vehicles, auxiliary power units, TISAS fire control systems, and DNS night driving devices installed on modernized T-72M1 tanks, 2S1 “Gvozdika” and 2S3 “Akatsiya” self-propelled guns, as well as Spike LR/LR2/ER ATGMs, RWS and MLS combat modules manufactured by Israeli companies “Elbit Systems Land Ltd” and “Rafael Advanced Defense Systems Ltd”. Our specialists also perform repairs on KamAZ and UAZ vehicles, diesel and carburetor electric generators, and air conditioning systems for military van bodies and trailers.

In addition, GTS modernizes such tactical vehicles as buggies, ATVs, and motorcycles by installing 7.62 mm PKM machine guns, ATGMs 9K111 Fagot, 9K111-1 Konkurs, and 9K135 Kornet, as well as other types of weapons. It modernizes the BM-21 Grad MLRS combat vehicle by installing new navigation and fire control systems, as well as simulators for various purposes.

GTS, together with its partners, has the opportunity to create:

– armored tracked fire truck based on the T-55 tank;

– a new combat vehicle by installing a combat module with a 20/23/30 mm or 23 mm ZU-23-2 automatic cannon and a new anti-drone system on the BMP-1 and/or MT-LB;

– modern command and staff vehicle on the MT-LB chassis or a vehicle with a 4×4 and 6×6 wheel arrangement for various branches of the military;

– a new MLRS that provides for the use of the 80-mm IAR S-8 to combat ground targets or provides for the use of 122-mm RS equipped with a precision aiming kit to combat drones and ground targets;

– a new anti-drone system using the 82mm 2B9 “Vasilek automatic” mortar.

GTS itself, as well as all personnel involved in the provision of Services, have completed the relevant courses and are certified by manufacturers of weapons and military vehicles. GTS is currently undergoing certification according to ISO9001 (Quality Management Systems), ISO14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO45001 (Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems).

At the Customer’s request, service maintenance, repair, and modernization are carried out by personnel and in the GTS company’s fully equipped with the necessary tools, machines, stands, and equipment MRC, as well as in the deployment points of weapons and military vehicles.

In addition to the above, GTS, at the Customer’s request, provides such additional professional services as assessment of the technical condition (defect detection) of weapons and military vehicles, identification of all faults, and preparation of the necessary technical documentation based on their results; repair and elimination of all faults identified in the main samples during the assessment of the technical condition (defect detection); training of the Customer’s technical personnel under a special program that ensures maximum transfer of knowledge and practical skills in servicing and repairing weapons and military vehicles.
