
Anduril confirms $642M deal to defend Marine Corps bases from drones
Anduril Industries has confirmed that it has been selected to provide AI-powered Counter Unmanned Aerial System (CUAS) technology to safeguard U.S. Marine Corps installations worldwide.
The company has been awarded a $642 million, 10-year Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Program of Record to deliver advanced autonomous solutions for the Installations-Counter small Unmanned Aircraft System (I-CsUAS) initiative.
The program aims to protect U.S. Marine Corps bases from evolving threats posed by small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). Anduril’s CUAS technology integrates artificial intelligence with a suite of sensors and effectors to autonomously detect, track, identify, and neutralize aerial threats. This approach enhances situational awareness and decision-making while minimizing the manpower required for continuous monitoring and response.
“This program validates Anduril’s CUAS advantage, enabling 24/7 autonomous operations powered by Lattice, our advanced software platform,” the company stated. Lattice leverages AI to streamline threat detection and mitigation, ensuring rapid response times and providing a critical edge in countering drone-based threats.
Anduril’s solution employs an open-architecture framework that integrates multiple sensors and defensive measures into a single, user-friendly command and control (C2) interface. This modular design allows for rapid upgrades and system enhancements over the 10-year period, ensuring that Marine Corps installations remain equipped with the latest defensive capabilities against emerging threats.
This contract builds on Anduril’s expanding relationship with the U.S. Marine Corps. In November, the company secured a $200 million contract to develop and deliver a CUAS Engagement System for the Marine Air Defense Integrated System (MADIS).
As noted by the company, as the demand for advanced counter-drone technology increases, Anduril has invested in Arsenal-1, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility designed to scale production of autonomous defense systems. Arsenal-1 enables rapid deployment while maintaining adaptability for future defense requirements.
