Israel’s Elbit wins $1.6B deal from Undisclosed European buyer
Israel’s Elbit Systems Ltd. announced it has secured a $1.635 billion contract to provide a broad range of advanced defense systems to an undisclosed European country.
The contract, set to run over five years, encompasses long-range precision strike capabilities, unmanned aerial systems, and state-of-the-art intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, and reconnaissance (ISTAR) technologies.
According to the company, the agreement covers two primary categories of equipment and technology.
The first includes long-range precision strike artillery-rocket systems alongside a wide array of unmanned reconnaissance and loitering aerial combat platforms. These range from operational to tactical systems and include personally operated drones.
The second category focuses on advanced ISTAR capabilities such as signals intelligence (SIGINT), communications intelligence (COMINT), and electronic warfare. Elbit Systems will also supply integrated intelligence collection and processing systems, modern electro-optical and night-vision technologies, combat vehicle upgrades, and protective systems. The package further includes a military digitalization and network combat solution based on the latest software generation and advanced communication hardware, providing a C4ISR suite that links strategic headquarters down to individual combat vehicles.
“This contract reflects the strong demand for Elbit Systems’ cutting-edge technologies in Europe and demonstrates our ability to deliver integrated, multi-domain solutions tailored to the needs of modern defense forces,” said Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems. “Elbit Systems’ comprehensive portfolio has proven itself operationally in the battlefield and is highly regarded by its users, and we are proud to support a European nation in strengthening its national security through this strategic partnership.”
The company emphasized that the deal includes industrial cooperation measures to enhance the buyer’s domestic defense manufacturing and technological capabilities.
Elbit Systems said the solutions being delivered are designed to meet the demands of modern warfare, where integration across land, air, and electronic domains is critical to operational effectiveness. The technologies will provide the recipient nation with improved situational awareness, faster decision-making, and greater precision in combat operations.
The five-year program will be rolled out in stages, aligning with the European customer’s modernization plans and operational requirements. Once fully implemented, it will enhance the country’s defense posture across multiple domains, from strategic deterrence to tactical battlefield support.
