IDEF 2021: Ukrainian company Luch showcases SKIF man portable antitank missile system
Ukroboronprom, an association of multi-product enterprises in various sectors of the defense industry of Ukraine, displays on its pavillon at IDEF 2021 the SKIF man portable antitank missile system developped by Luch company.
SKIF man portable antitank system is designed to destroy manpower and stationary and mobile modern amored targets with combined, carried or monolithic armor including ERA (Explosive Reactor Armor) and aslo pinpoint targets like weapon emplacements, lightly armored objects or even hovered helicopters at any time od day and night.
The system features lies in its possibility to aim the missiles at a target from closed emplacements and shelters that reduces the risk of the gunner destruction by reply fire attack of the enemy as well as target tracking in automatic mode, which provides automatic control of the missile flight in the laser beam without participation of the gunner.
The system is equipped with 130mm and 152 mm missiles in transport and launching containers with tandem hollow-charge (RK-25, RK-2M-K) and high-explosive fragmenttaion (RK-2OF, RK-2M-OF) warheads.
The PDU-215 control panel is a briefcase-like laptop with a control panel, containing a small joystick and a flat-screen display to assist the missile’s guidance.
Two firing modes are available: manual, and fire-and-forget. Fire-and-forget provides automatic control of the missile flight using a targeting laser beam. The PDU-215 allows the control of the unit from up to 50 meters away. Once the missile is fired, the operator controls the Skif and corrects the aim when necessary, by using the joystick on the remote control.
