Belarusian army testing prototypes of upgarded Uragan-M MLRS

Field trials of the upgraded multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) Uragan-M are in progress in the Osipovichsky exercise area of the 51st Guards Artillery Brigade, BelTA news agency learned from the chief of the Osipovichsky exercise area, commander of army unit No.12147, Guards Colonel Aleksei Ratushny.

Belarusian army testing prototypes of upgarded Uragan M MLRSOfficial trials, that include live firing, are in progress with prototypes of the launching vehicle 9P140MB and the transporter-loader vehicle 9T452MB. These prototypes represent an upgraded version of the Uragan-M MLRS. They have been created in two years by the Belarusian company OAO Volatavto. For the chassis, the company has replaced the outdated Zil-135LM truck with a MAZ-6317. The upgraded Uragan MLRS has been fitted with modern communications and automation solutions.

The developers of this upgraded MLRS are carrying the tests with personnel of an artillery squadron of the 51st Guards Artillery Brigade.
