IAI develops jam-resistant GNSS system for tactical platforms

Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has introduced Compact ADA, a new jam-resistant Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) designed for airborne tactical platforms.

As noted by the company, this advanced system is aimed at protecting avionic systems from GNSS jamming, ensuring consistent Position, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) for military operations.

The Compact ADA system, which boasts reduced Size, Weight, and Power (SWaP) characteristics, has already been integrated into several platforms both in Israel and internationally, accumulating thousands of operational flight hours. It is a derivative of IAI’s ADA system, tailored specifically for air tactical applications.

Jacob Galifat, General Manager of IAI’s MALAM Division, highlighted the importance of this technology in the face of growing GNSS threats. “With the threats that GNSS faces today, these systems are a must for any platform using GPS or any other Global Satellite Navigation Systems. Our operationally proven systems ensure the availability of GPS and GNSS-based systems even in the most contested EW-saturated battle space. Considering the operational challenges, this system has considerable export potential for many air forces and armies who experience GNSS jamming in combat zones,” he said.

The Compact ADA employs advanced immunity capabilities through multiple mitigation methods and specialized digital signal processing algorithms. Its versatility allows integration into a variety of platforms, offering enhanced operational resilience against jamming attempts.

IAI’s extensive experience in providing GNSS Anti-Jam solutions is reflected in this new system, which is compatible with a broad range of satellite navigation systems.
