IESMA 2018 – largest international NATO energy solutions conference and exhibition in Vilnius

NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence (NATO ENSEC COE) is holding international Conference and Exhibition “Innovative Energy Solutions for Military Applications 2018” (IESMA 2018) on November 14-16 , 2018 at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre LITEXPO in Vilnius. The conference will bring together NATO allies, partners and their enterprises to present standard, advanced and cutting-edge energy saving technologies and products that help enhance security, military capabilities, and resilience to threats.

“We expect the conference to provide a venue for experts from academia, industry and the military to exchange information on best practices, solutions and technologies in improving energy efficiency in the military, operational capacity of military forces, expand their operational distance and mobility in present and future security environment,” Director of the NATO Energy Security Centre of Excellence Colonel Romualdas Petkevičius says.

iesma e1541837100211Key speakers at the Conference opening on November 14 will be Minister of Energy Žygimantas Vaičiūnas, Vice Minister of National Defence Vytautas Umbrasas, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Darius Skusevičius of the Republic of Lithuania. Announcement at the Conference will be delivered by representatives of the worldwide known companies and high-ranking military and governmental officials: Assistant Chief of Staff Defence Planning, NATO HQ Supreme Allied Commander Transformation AIRCDRE Ralph W. Reefman; Principal Director, Operational Energy Policy and Chief of Staff, Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Air Force, Operational Energy Mr. Michael Penland; Seismic Engineering Officer, Engineering and Development Section International Monitoring Systems Division, Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization in Austria Mr. Marián Jusko, etc.

The conference is co-organised by the NATO ENSEC COE in cooperation with State Military Scientific Technical Centre “DELTA” of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia and the support of the NATO Emerging Security Challenges Division and the NATO Science for Peace and Security Programme.

The Conference and Exhibition IESMA 2018 showcases the core of NATO ENSEC COE activity: The Centre and IESMA 2018 unite the academic , the industrial, and the military worlds. Joint efforts help extract the most up to date know-hows, expertise and strategy in energy efficiency. All three sides find meeting points for cooperation and plan strategy for way ahead. The NATO ENSEC COE also looks into the macro level – energy resources and their distribution that affect security and geopolitical vulnerability of countries.
