Talgat Zhanzhumenov appointed first vice minister of digital development, defense and aerospace industry of Kazakhstan
By the Decree of the Government, Talgat Zhanzhumenov was appointed first vice minister of digital development, the defense and aerospace industry of Kazakhstan, Polygon reports citing Prime Minieter’s press service.
Zhanzhumenov was born in 1968 in the East Kazakhstan region. He graduated from the Volsk Higher Military School of Logistics named after Lenin Komsomol, Military Academy of Logistics and Transport of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. He is an officer with a higher military-special, operational-strategic education.
He began his career in 1989 as the head of the food service of a tank regiment. Over the years, he worked in the Air Force of Kazakhstan, Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Ministry of Defense of Kazakhstan, Republican Guard of Kazakhstan, Security Council of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2001-2006 he was deputy commander of the Republican Guard of Kazakhstan.
In 2008-2010 he was head of Logistics of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In 2010-2013 he was vice minister of defense of Kazakhstan.
In 2014-2015 he was deputy head of the Secretariat of the Security Council of the Presidential Administration of Kazakhstan.
In 2015-2016 he was head of the Department of Military Security and Defense of the Security Council.
From October 2016 to April 2019, he has served as vice minister of defense.
